This checklist helps you catch common issues before launch, ensuring smooth data collection and reliable results.

Test Set Up

  • Have you added a welcome message?
This is the first thing respondents see and introduces them to the test they're about to complete. You can add this in 'Test settings'

  • If applicable, have you set your NDA?
In cases where you require an NDA, respondents have to agree to the NDA before they are allowed to enter and take a test. You can add this in 'Test settings'

  • Have you previewed your test?
Click 'Preview test' on the top right of the screen to preview how your test will look to respondents and correct any errors. Note: comments are switched off in preview mode.

Writing your Questions

  • Have you added a focus area to give respondents context to what they're about to see?

Focus Areas"" ask respondents to read or watch a piece of content before you ask a question.

  • Are the questions and focus areas labelled correctly?

This enables clear navigation for respondents.

  • Are the questions ordered correctly?

To change the order of your questions, hold down and drag it to its correct position.

  • Are you questions clear and easy to understand?

Refrain from using marketing/research jargon, questions should be simple and easy to understand.

  • Have you checked there are no repeated question labels?

    Unique IDs prevent confusion

  • Are key words bolded?

    Draws attention efficiently

  • Have you used relevant emojis in your question text?

    Sparks engagement if relevant

  • If applicable, have you set your questions and content to randomise?

    Mitigates presentation bias

  • Have you selected the correct question type?

Loops offers 7 question types: Multi-Choice, Single-Choice, Likert, Open-end, Slider, emoji or Ranking

  • Do your multiple choice questions have an 'Other' or 'None of these' option?

If applicable, adding single punch 'None of these' and 'Other' choices at end lets all respondents fully answer the question

Translating your questions and/or assets

  • Do you need to translate your questions?
Approve the survey in English before other languages so that Loops can apply QA checks

  • Have Google Translations been validated?
Loops will translate questions using Google Translate, you may require additional checks beyond auto-generation

  • Have you asked a native speaker to check your preview link?
We recommend having a native speaker check all test links to confirm localisation quality

Uploading your Assets

  • Are your assets visually stimulating?
Respondents react well to assets that are visually appealing, with colour and imagery (where possible)

  • Are your static image assets (JPEGs, PNGs, JPGs) the correct dimensions?
    We recommend 1920 x 1080 (max 3000px width)

  • Are your assets correctly labelled when you upload them?
    Essential for results analysis

  • Have you added a voice over

Consider adding a voice over when respondents are reviewing a block of text

  • Are you uploading static assets in PNG, JPEG or JPG format?
    < 1MB file size each (max 3MB)

  • Are you uploading a video MP4?
    < 10MB file size each (max 120MB)

Setting your Audience

  • Have you selected the correct Country/Language?
Limit to one country and language per test

  • Have you selected any "Standard Audience Filters"
These include those in the Demographic Filters dropdown list in "Set audience", such as HHI, region, industry worked in, parental status etc.

  • If you require a custom screener, have you requested a feasibility check and given your Loops team at least 2 days' notice?
"Custom screeners" are any screeners which you do not see in the Demographic Filters dropdown list in 'Set audience' e.g. users of a brand

  • Have you set any quotas?
If you require any quotas, such as age or gender, have you selected these?

  • Have you checked the feasibility of your test?
After you've set your market and filters, you'll see a predicted feasibility in platform. If it's orange or red, this indicates you might not reach your desired sample size. Note: this does not include custom screeners.
